Electrical Safety testing

Electrical safety testing can be carried out in conjunction with medical equipment testing & calibration or as a separate service.

An electrical safety test determines the electrical safety of the device; it does not verify functionality, calibration or operation of the machine. In simple terms this test means the equipment should not pose an electrical hazard to the user or patient.

Our medical equipment calibration service ensures all medical devices are tested and calibrated in accordance with original manufacturers’ guidelines.

What is PAT testing and do you offer this?

PAT testing (portable appliance testing) is an electrical safety test intended for domestic equipment i.e. Kettles, Televisions etc. It is not suitable for medical equipment, as it doesn't carry out appropriate tests.  All medical equipment should be electrical safety tested with equipment specifically designed for medical devices as laid out in IEC60601, IEC 62353, HTM and MHRA guidance on electrical safety testing.

We therefore do not offer PAT testing; however we do offer the correct medical devices electrical safety test.
